Name: Midna
Series: Legend of Zelda
Point in canon: Right after Ganondorf is defeated and before she destroys the Twilight Mirror
Abilities: Can use her magic to warp places, disguise herself as someone else, open portals, and shatter the Mirror of Twilight. Also uses the fused shadows to transform into a fearsome beast.
History: Midna is one of the Twili, a race descended from wielders of powerful and evil magic who were banished to an alternate dimension by the goddesses Din, Farore, and Nayru after an event known as the Interloper War. This alternate dimension, out of which the sublimated descendants could only exist as shadows, eventually became known as the Twilight Realm, which Midna is the monarchy of. Zant usurped the position from her, turning her into an imp. Midna happened upon Link who transformed into a beast, forming a plan to save her kingdom. She saved Link from imprisonment, going with him on his quest to save Hyrule. They traveled together, collecting the fused shadows. After an encounter with Zant, Midna was left near death, but thanks to Zelda, she was able to survive and be able to step out into the light. With renewed confidence in Link, they set out to gather the shards of the Twilight Mirror, which was the only connection from the Twilight realm to Hyrule. After putting it back together, they set out to the Twilight realm to defeat Zant, who revealed Ganondorf was the "God" who bestowed upon him power. Now that Zant was defeated, it was time to move on the Hyrule Castle, where Ganondorf had set up camp. During the struggle, Midna tells Link and Zelda to get away, and she transforms into a fearsome beast to stop Ganondorf. It is during this that she is presumed killed, because Ganondorf shows up on Hyrule Field carrying her helmet. After the battle and Ganondorf is truly defeated, Midna is shown, having regained her true form. As she returns to the Twilight realm, she destroys the mirror for good, so no one may use it again.
Personality: Midna is a complex animal. When she first meets you, she will act with slightly condescending and disdainful, taking awhile to warm up to someone. If she ever does, that is. Very intelligent, powerful ,and she knows it, not afraid to flaunt her skills to show how much superior she is. Originally, she had nothing but contempt for the people of the Light, but after Link and Zelda's sacrifices to save her, she grew to respect those of the Light realm. Can be a bit of a flirt and enjoys teasing her friends. Those who anger her, receive her wrath, which is a force to be reckoned with.
